What is the Bible?
Sometimes, things don't make sense until we know what we are reading.
Maybe you've found yourself in a similar situation when you were trying to read something from the Bible.
If we are making disciples of Jesus, using God’s Word, then it helps to know what the Bible is. Some people may be asking similar questions that some of you have been asking or once asked.
What is the Bible? Where did it come from? Who wrote it? How did it come to be the Bible? Why are there so many different translations? Which one should I read?
The Bible is first, a library, a collection of writings that God inspired to be written down and saved for generations to read later.
It’s a collection of life over many years with the lens of God on mankind, yet, also of mankind toward God.
We see that the Bible is a collection of writings written over 1,000 years, from 40+ different writers, but One Main Author.
Though the Bible is a large collection of all of these writings through people from God over many years:
The Word of God is God revealing Himself, Humanity, Salvation, Hope, Lessons, Guidance, and is Alive and Active, sharper than any two edged-sword piercing into our hearts and minds (Heb 4:12)
