"I wish God would show Himself!" He did & we get to know God through Him (Jesus Christ the Son/Word)
God the Son/Word is unique in that He came in the flesh (fully God & fully man) to reconcile our relationship between us & God eternally. He is the way for us to intimately & relationally know God since salvation comes through no other name than the name of Jesus.
