We Are Forgiven!

"I forgive you."

Sometimes, those are treasured words that bring relief to our burdened hearts. Other times, we still feel the guilt even after those words were spoken… isn’t being forgiven suppose to make us feel better?

Sometimes in our culture we think of forgiveness as no longer feeling guilty, to be feeling better. But, is this how forgiveness is seen throughout the Bible on a deeper level? How has God forgiven us and how does this affect how we forgive others? What about this "forgive & forget"? How can our all-knowing God forget something that has happened? What does that mean when God "forgets" our sins?

We may have had these questions or heard other people ask these questions. These are great questions and the answers affect how we view forgiveness.

Let's spend some time together to understand how God forgives us and "forgets" our sins, because they way we live in God's forgiveness affects how we forgive others.

In this series, we realize how we view each other and ourselves affects how we treat each other and ourselves. It's best to view each other in the ways God views us so that we love each other the way God loves us. We are seeing our new identity as Disciples of Jesus, who make disciples of Jesus who know their new identity in Jesus as well. We can help each other as we are being transformed by God.
