Members of God's Household [Church & Home]
Being part of a household is a big thing!
What if we saw our membership in God’s household as both members of His church and our family units?
We are members of God’s household both at home and as the church.
The faith and love we live out is not just at church or work, but in each of our household family units!
How are you and I living out our faith — not just at church or at work, but how are you & I living out our relationship with God at home?
“The family [is seen] as the main social context within which people live their daily lives.” [source: Dictionary of Biblical Imagery]
This is not just us trying to do better, but to be transformed by our relationship with God, through Christ, in the Spirit.
How is my relationship with God and God’s Relationship with me affecting every area of my life?
There’s a reason why Paul points out that elders and deacons should be able to love their families well before they even lead God’s household family of believers. He points to the concern… how can these leaders love God’s household family of believers well if he can’t even love his own family well? [1 Timothy 3:4, 12 & Titus 1:6-8]
The hope is that God’s love will spill from us into our household families as it also spills into God’s household family of believers.
