Getting to Know & Share Jesus

Aug 13, 2023    Daryl Struemph

We can do a bunch of things for a person, but that doesn’t mean we know them. We don’t get to know a person just because we do a bunch of things for them; we get to know a person by listening and having conversation with that person.

Then, as I know that person, then my actions follow… I begin to do things differently because I know the person.

Knowing the person led my actions.

This goes for knowing Jesus as well!

We don’t want to get so caught up doing a lot of things we think is showing our love to Jesus if we aren’t spending time getting to know Jesus throughout our lives. Getting to know Jesus leads our actions.

We have the opportunity to intimately know God through His Word, Jesus, and His Spirit!

When we are discipling people, we are not just trying to teach them a bunch of things to do or not do, or a bunch of facts about Jesus, or ways to feel good about ourselves… we are wanting to disciple them to know Jesus in a relationship as you know Jesus. Knowing Jesus relationally guides our actions… it leads to transformation!

What has your relationship with Jesus been like over the years?

You get to disciple people, to help them learn and mature in their relationship with Jesus, to then let others know of this relationship with God — their creator-- that they can have through Jesus!

How have you been maturing in your relationship with Jesus? How have you been helping others mature in Jesus?
